    On Eigenvalue Decompactification in QCD1+1_{1+1}

    The question whether it is necessary to decompactify the gauge eigenvalue degrees of freedom in QCD1+1_{1+1} is addressed.     Susceptibility of Monte-Carlo Generated Projected Vortices

    We determine the topological susceptibility from center projected vortices and demonstrate that the topological properties of the SU(2) Yang-Mills vacuum can be extracted from the vortex content. We eliminate spurious ultraviolet fluctuations by two different smoothing procedures.     Center Vortex Model for the Infrared Sector of SU(3) Yang-Mills Theory

    In this talk, we review some recent results of the center vortex model for the infrared sector of SU(3) Yang-Mills theory. Particular emphasis is put on the order of the finite-temperature deconfining phase transition and the geometrical structure of vortex branchings.
